Best Time to Visit Longji Rice Terraces

Longsheng, situated in the mountainous region in the northeastern part of Guilin. It provides not simply stunning scenery but also an authentic picture of rural life combined with the color and character of several of China’s ethnic minorities.  The spectacular Longji Rice Terraces, 22.5 km (14 miles) from the town of Longsheng, rolling hills covered from foot to summit with rice paddies, are a must-see for any individual who has a day or two to spare.

Mirror-like Irrigated Terraces in Spring
The best time to explore Longji Rice Terraces in Longsheng County is determined by which of its seasonal beauty you're interested in most. As Longji's beauty changes throughout the four seasons. For mirror-like irrigated terraces: go mid-April to late June; for green terraces: go July to mid-September, when the rice plants are verdant; for golden terraces: go late September to mid-November, harvest time for the yellow rice; and for silvery terraces: go late December to early February, when there may be snow.

Golden Terraces in Autumn

Before visitting the place, make notice:
Wear proper clothing and comfortable walking shoes: you'll be making a long walk up the side of the mountain.  Think about rain gear: Guilin as well as the surrounding region is really a wet region and rain can come throughout any time of the year.
