Xian, Called Chang'an in ancient times, which is regarded as one of the “four greatest civilized ancient capitals in the world” along with Athens in Greece, Rome in Italy and Cairo in Egypt.
As one of the seven ancient capitals of the country, Xi’an has witnessed 2,000 years of Chinese history. Thirteen dynasties including three great prosperous dynasties of Qin(221B.C.-206B.C.), West Han(206B.C.-24A.D.) and Tang(618-907) had their capitals here.
